The Call of the Coast by Thuy-Linh

6 Feb

The waters rise over our feet.
We do not know where it leads.
We let it wash over us.
Dripping, soothing.
We try to rush away.
We try to escape.
But the waves call to us.
The sea cries out.
And we give in.
We leave the sands.
We leave their promises of safety.
And we race with the torrential waves.
To the beating heart of the ocean.
To the land of the unknown.
And to it we rush.
We rush.
