“Children’s Books”
What is it about children’s books?
That make us smile when we gaze upon them
Is it the rhymes? The jokes?
Is it the pictures that make us laugh?
The memories that these cherished pages hold!
The enthusiasm of the reader,
The imagination of the listener.
The love that is poured out onto every page
from beginning to end.
The words of the author
how important they are!
Combined together to create a sentence.
Sentences that make us think.
Ones that teach us a life lesson we will never forget.
These are things that i see
in a children’s book.

Wow Mary, I really enjoyed this poem! It reminds me that every once and a while when I go to the library; I can’t seem to fight the urge of grabing one up and reading it. lol. Just reading the children’s book reminds me of when I was a little kid and everything seemed so exiting!!!! I could’t wait to grab, touch, hold, or read anything. Great job Mary, you have brought me back to my childhood again. I love your poem!
