– this is not part of my story, just wanted to participate!
“She was the only one who could save them all.” Jesse said, looking Darla right in the eyes.
“She was the only one? How was she the only one? Why didn’t you go? Why didn’t you let Sammy go? Why did you make her leave, Jesse?” Darla screamed in his face. “Why did you do this?”
“Darla, you have to understand that she knows how to take care of herself. She will be back. I know she will.”
“No she won’t.” Sammy interjected.
“Oh, Sammy, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it.” Darla tried to back-peddle on what she had just said, not knowing Sammy was in the room.
“Yes you did, Darla.”
“Sammy, I-” But it was too late, Sammy turned around and left. What Sammy knew but no one else did, was that she was leaving to find Genevieve and no one would stop her. If she had to kill someone, she would. If she had to starve herself, she would. She had to find her mother and no one was going to tell her she couldn’t.
Just going to end on suspense. Not even going to tell you what happened. Maybe I’ll follow it up with future prompts! 🙂
