Let’s make 2016 rock! by Maleeka
With the beginning of 2016 unfolding right in front of our eyes I think all of us should really sit back and review everything we accomplished in 2015. Did you finish that first draft you’ve been working on tirelessly? Were you able to reach your word count for NaNoWriMo in 2015? Were you able to accomplish any of your goals or New Year’s resolutions throughout 2015? If your answer was ‘yes’ to all of those questions I just want to say I’m extremely proud of you, and to the people who answered ‘no’ to any of the questions above I’m extremely proud of you as well.
It’s not about whether you fail or succeed in accomplishing your goals, it’s about the journey. It’s about the obstacles you went through, and the lessons you learned. Hopefully, you will be able to achieve all of your goals this year with everything you learned from 2015. You’ll probably be able to master poetry, win NaNoWriMo, get excellent grades on your report card, or maybe even publish your own novel.
Whatever spectacular plans you have in store for 2016 I’m rooting for you. I hope you accomplish your resolutions. But even though I’m on the sidelines cheering you on, you need to believe in yourself as well. Try to be confident in your goals, always focus on the bright sides of things and ignore the negativity. Focus on meeting that deadline, achieving at least some of your goals before 2017 rolls in. Try breaking your goals down into short term goals, and eventually strive to accomplish your long term goals. Get ready, because the clock is ticking down, we’re beginning on a new 365 page book. As each day (or page in this case) passes on we’re inching closer and closer to the end of2016. Try to make this year rock!
