Welcome to NaPoWriMo! So it begins! Enjoy a full month of poetry discussion and writing.

Today’s prompt:

Write a haiku describing something you can only hear.

Post your poem to comments!

Please read the NaPoWriMo page for details on how the challenge works, how to comment,  and how you can participate this month, no matter what your personal writing challenge is for the month of April. Remember that work shared this month is shared in precisely that spirit: sharing, as opposed to critiquing.

  1. Whispered upon lips,
    Loved, Admired, Good,
    The truths of all praise

  2. The Wind whistles through,
    The Branches are Hollow now,
    The Breeze lasts all day.

  3. Dancing through the air
    Twisting, moving all around
    Music, everywhere

  4. The notes of a bird
    ring out a sharp melody;
    a constant chirrup.

  5. His lips locked on mine,
    Surrounded by the silence,
    Just in this moment.

  6. The voice in my head,
    soft, guiding, and critical;
    Always, always there.

  7. It cannot be seen
If someone speaks, it shall flee
    The absence of noise

  8. Lonely, wandering,
    tenderly brushing my skin,
    the wind cries softly.

  9. I love you, they say,
    whispered in ears, shouted on
    mountain tops, a secret.

  10. The green fields of grass
    Blew gracefully in the wind
    Whizing past my ear

  11. In morning spring air
    Lovely voices everywhere
    Vivid birds, but where

    • Here is the correct haiku. My other one was wrong.

      In morning spring air
      Lovely voices everywhere
      Vivid birds, but where
