Meeting This Week!

Our next meeting is Thursday, November 10, 7-8pm EST.

During this meeting we will celebrating NaNoWriMo and discussing novel writing elements. If you’d like, you can email a 500 word excerpt of your novel to me by Wednesday, November 9 for open mic. Pieces will be read first come as time allows. We still have several pieces from last meeting that we didn’t get to, and those will be read first.
If you’re not able to join us this week, I will send out information about the assignment.

Open Mic
Want to read some of your writing at this week’s meeting or have someone else read it?
Open Mic Requirements:
-You must email your piece by Wednesday, November 9.
-You can submit fiction, poetry, or non-fiction.
-Your piece or excerpt should be 500 words or less.
-Pieces must be school appropriate. Pieces should not be explicitly political, religious, or intimate.
-Pieces will be read on a first come, first served basis as time allows.

Literature Chat
Do you want to share a book you’ve read or an author you love with the club? Maybe you read about a writing technique or idea that you’d like to share.
Literature Chat Requirements:
-You must be present to discuss your slide and have a mic to be able to speak to the group.
-You must create a powerpoint slide about what you’d like to share.
-You must email your piece by Wednesday, November 9.
-Your powerpoint should be limited to one slide.
-Topics must be school appropriate. Pieces should not be explicitly political, religious, or intimate.
-Topics will be read on a first come, first served basis as time allows.

  1. Can’t wait! I will try to attend this week. I am so excited to see everyone else’s awesome work!

  2. I keep failing to attend, but I will try to set up my alarm for this week’s meeting at 3 am. It makes things incredibly frustrating when the country you live in does not participate in daylight savings time, or when the country you do things in does.
