“Who You Are” By Cristi

You’re not just a person,
Who wakes up every morning,
And eats breakfast, simple as that.

You’re not just a person,
Who breathes in,
Then breathes out,simple as that.

You’re not just a person,
Who sees things,
And decides whether or not you,
Like what you see, simple as that.

You’re not just a person,
Who sings with the radio,
When you are in the car, simple as that.

You’re not just a person,
Who closes your eyes,
When you are scared, simple as that.

You’re not just a person,
Who smiles at random times,
Because you can, simple as that.

You’re not just a person,
With a favorite color,
Because you like how it looks, simple as that.

You are a person, yes,
But you are not just a person.

You are your favorite breakfast, the one you eat every day.
You are the moments that take your breath away.
You are the things you look at and actually see.
You are the song that you only sing when you’re in the car, by yourself.
You are the things that make you glad you don’t have to close your eyes all the time.
You are the words or thoughts or memories that make you smile at random times.
You are the color that reminds you of something special enough to make it your favorite color over everything else.

But above all, know that you’re not just a person. You are thoughts and smiles, and breakfasts, and breaths, and fears and songs and sights and colors and everything that makes you happy.

THAT’S who you are.
