Today’s prompt:

Writer a poem that only has 5 syllables in each line, and give the poem a long title.

Post your poem to comments!

Please read the NaPoWriMo page for details on how the challenge works  and how you can participate this month, no matter what your personal writing challenge is for the month of April. Please read How to Post During NaPoWriMo. Remember that work shared this month is shared in precisely that spirit: sharing, as opposed to critiquing.

  1. *This doesn’t follow the prompt and is kind of a mess but oh well. I just really love my dog is all 😂*

    They’re loyal to the end
    Always willing to make amends
With perked up ears and wagging tails they never fail to make me smile.
No matter what my day brings, I know my dog will always be there.

  2. Title: The Day the Sun Ceased to Shine Upon Our Glorious World

    Morning came that day
    A day in late May
    The sun did not rise
    Did not open her eyes
    So the world slept on
    There was no new dawn

  3. Title: Changing to Make a Better and Brighter You

    Everyone can change
    Even stubborn ones
    Even the hurting
    Change for the better
    It may be hard but
    Not impossible

  4. Title: The Angle That Finally Found Me Joy.

    I tried happiness
    But that didn’t work
    I tried steadiness
    I wasn’t ready
    I didn’t try hard
    Or so I am told
    Everyday it seems
    I played the wrong cards
    I tried very hard
    But I am still lost
    I want to fit in
    But that won’t happen
    Then one day I saw
    A gorgeous angel
    Fallen to the ground
    With no one to help
    I stuck my hand down
    To help her upright
    Although she had fright
    She accepted help
    I helped her up high
    Made sure she could fly
    After that meeting
    She helped bring me joy
    I played the right cards
    And felt happiness
    For the first time ever
