Today’s prompt:

Create a found poem

Example #1           Example #2

Post your poem to comments!

Please read the NaPoWriMo page for details on how the challenge works  and how you can participate this month, no matter what your personal writing challenge is for the month of April. Please read How to Post During NaPoWriMo. Remember that work shared this month is shared in precisely that spirit: sharing, as opposed to critiquing.

  1. *Unrelated*

    Why did you go?
    Without an explanation,
You were gone in the night
    Come back
    I still love you

  2. (Unrelated)

    Every second of every day
    Is a new opportunity
    To choose to stay
And join your friends in unity,
    Every minute of every month
    Is a time to change
    To confront
    To widen your range,
    Every month of every year
    You are different somehow
    You’ve conquered another fear
And you’re building your here and now.

  3. I don’t know if I put a picture on here, but here is the poem. It’s from page 261 of Laurie Halse Anderson’s ‘Wintergirls’.

    I find silence
    In a single shadow
    I wake up
    I’m dreaming
    The flickering shadows
    Open my eyes

    • This is fine Alexia, you don’t have to put the picture. What a wonderful poem! I personally have always found “found poetry” a very unique and cool form of poetry! (I’m the one who created this prompt) Well done!

  4. Bottom of page 687 Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows

From the tip of his wand burst a silver doe
That landed on the office floor
    Bounded across the office
And soared out of the window
    He watched her fly away
    Her silvery glow faded
His eyes were full of tears
    After all this time?

(This is one of my favorite parts 🙂 )

  5. Overpriced Love
    natural and tasted like tears
the fine print out the window
the only true love is love of money

(Bwah hah it sounds kinda deep. This is from Gravity Falls Journal 3, the “Love Potion” page. Anyone’s who’s watched GF can guess who says the last part)
