  1. One step at a time
One foot in front of the other
    Up and up I ascend
    Higher into the sky
    Closer to those fluffy clouds
    Though this mountain is jagged
Here’s what is keeping me going:
    The clearing on top
Where I can dance and sing
Place my flag up there with so many others
To let everyone know who sees it know
That I have triumphed over all my troubles
    That I have not fallen
    That I am still here

  2. Okay, I know this may not count, but it’s from the movie the Sound of Music.
    Climb every mountain,
    Cross every stream,
    Follow every rainbow,
    Until, you find your dream.
    Climb every mountain.

This one is from me though:
As I scale this high peak,
    Getting so very weak,
    One thing keeps me alive,
    Because I know I’ve
    Got to find it.
On the top of this mountain,
    Majestic, and white with snow,
    I know,
    That I’ll find you,
    And it is true,
    Past this great mountain!
    We’ll be together.
Past this mountain, which now seems like a hill
    To our love,
    And I will,
    Climb this mountain,
    To see you again,
    My dearest, nearest friend.

  3. My life is like a mountain
    I’m constantly climbing
    I feel like I haven’t moved
    I feel like I’m stuck.
    But I keep going
    Left hand, right foot
    Right hand, left foot.
    I inch higher.
    Left hand, right foot
    Right hand, left foot.
    Another inch.
    Tedious and tiring
    But I keep climbing.
The unknown is on the top
But that doesn’t make me stop.
    One more foot
    I’m almost there.
    One more foot
    Until I can declare
I’ve completed this section of my life.

      1. Okay, thanks. I like your poem. Our water heater flooded the garage, and I was supposed to go to Camp Boggy Creek for the weekend, but now I can’t because my mother doesn’t want o go since she doesn’t want to leave the water heater, i understand but am disappointed. there is still hope though. Are you part of Campnanowrimo?

  4. Fight for your life, like you want to live,
Fight for your way, like you know where you’re going,
Fight for your breath, like it’s the last you have,
Fight for your mind, like it’s the only thing left,
Fight for yourself, like you’re all you have,
Don’t stop fighting, you’re so close to the top,
So close to winning, you can’t be stopped,
Don’t stop climbing, you can do it, I swear,
    I know you can do it, I’ve seen you up there;
In my dreams, in the middle of yours,
I can see you flying to the top of the world,
Reaching the peak, screaming it’s yours,
Finding yourself and finding your heart,
Loving yourself and learning you’ve been your own hero from the start.
Fight for yourself, like you’re all you have,
Fight for this moment, like it’s your last second to live,
Fight for your memories, like you’ll make another,
Fight for your sight, take in everything you see,
Fight for you life, like you want to live,
Don’t stop trying, you’re almost there,
I know you can make it, don’t stop here,
    You’re so, so close,
    Can’t you see the top?
Don’t stop trying you’re almost there,
You’ve almost made it, don’t be scared
You can do this, I know you can
I’ve seen you do it once before,
    When everything tore you down
You did it then, why not now?
    Fight, don’t stop,
    Fight, don’t think about it,
    Fight, you have to try
    Fight, you can do this,
    Fight, you can win,
    Fight, you’re almost there,
    Fight, this is it.
😀 Pretty okayish if you ask me

    1. This isn’t okayish, this is amazing! I love the repetition and the mood this makes, this is truly a spectacular piece! Bravo! 😀 🙂

  5. Looking up at the mountain
Dyeing of thirst, where a fountain?
O water to replenish my soul
    Here comes another goal
    Another task
Another thing to add to my day
    So much to ask
    I must find another way
So as I climb this figurative mountain
I realize I’m speechless from my constant shouting
I take a deep breath as I reach the top
All I need was to break and to stop
Just to get one gulp of that sweet mountain air
Oh please world let my heart be spared.

Wow! This is horrible! Any comments re appreciated, even though I really don’t like this one! 😦

  6. Every step incites fear deep in my bones
Every breath appears shallow and strained
I clench my teeth as they rattle from the wind
And suppress a scream with every crumble beneath my feet
Afraid to look down at my death and my past
I look up to the top of the obstacle
My future waits for me on the other side
In a search for a new foothold, I slip
Falling and sliding, my hands desperately grasp
I let out a sigh when they find a branch
    Refusing to let my hardships
Keep me from reaching what awaits me on the other side
Ignoring the fact that I lost so much progress
I continue my climb to the other side of this mountain

  7. You reach,
    You climb.
    One foot,
    The other.
Keep your head above the air,
    Keep breathing.
Always do it, go, go go.
    As you near the top,
    The journey’s over.
    You plant your feet above.
    The distilled ocean shimmers blue,
As the cold seeps into you.
You bring your hands out in the air,
    And cry for victory.
Hey everyone! This is what it would be like to climb mount Everest for me, lol. Enjoy!

  8. This is a mountain. May seem obvious, yet I’m not talking about one you climb.
It is one you cannot see over, but it is not a literal mountain.
It is one we climb but doesn’t need equipment.
It is something that we may all fear.
But it’s not an exact mountain.
    It is mourning.

We wish, hope, and discover love and forget that if it’s lost the pain it costs.
Life is full of ups and downs like a mountain, but it’s figurative.
Loss is a hardship we know but cannot be ready for.
People mourn every day and we do not know.
It is best to understand what it feels like.
So we can comfort those climbing.

  9. Straight to the top,
    That’s where she’ll go,
If she’ll fall… no one knows,
    Determined, she will never drop,
    But whats at the top…

May she find out and not be stopped.
😀 Trying to reach my goal (NaPoWriMo) little by little ❤
