The Bird by Gabrielle H

I’m the bird, I sit in a cage

Others laugh as I rage

Filled with thoughts filled with boredom

I decide to build a kingdom

I don’t have many friends, I don’t have much family

But when I’m alone I finally

Know what I must do and say

To survive for just one day

And never hurt another’s feelings

To get along with other’s dealings

Singing songs and playing along

Finding a place where I belong

Though I have not much freedom, and such a small home

That though I can never fly, never roam

And others say I’m sheltered, filling me with rage

But I have not much choice, for  illnesses is my cage
