You tell me you love me.
Care about me.
That I deserve to smile.

You tell me that I’m perfect.
Absolutely lovely.
That I am a rose in the desert.

But this rose is covered with thorns.
And poison drips from my lips.
And coats my hands
That touch my face while I cry

And this rose has had each petal pulled.
And my mind is being pulled to shreds.
Every piece falling apart.
Against my will.

And this rose has been licked by flames.
And I am burned.

  1. This is tragic but beautifully written. Amazing job, I love this, though it’s sad.

  2. I know that this might be a weird thing to say but I can totally see this as a song.

  3. Wow, so beautiful, what an image it paints as well. Great job! 🙂

  4. Hmmm… This is really good. I like sad poems.

  5. I really liked this poem. It shows a lot of in depth emotion, and your descriptions really delineate that feeling. I hope to see more of your works in the future. Awesome work.
