  1. This is a good idea, i thought of trying to get my teacher to help me, but this is even better. you will be hearing a lot from me.

  2. I think this is a great idea as well. Sometimes more eyes and different views is best. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. do they have to be completed stories / chapters, or can they be Work In Progress’?

  4. Oh, I most definitely would like some editing for my poetry book. Just having another set of eyes would be reassuring! ๐Ÿ™‚ Would the editors edit a short book of poetry?

    • Definitely! At the very least I can split it up amongst a couple of people.

      • That sounds wonderful. I’m around 30+ pages into the book. It’s many different poems of varying styles and lengths broken into “chapters” that detail a girl’s life during the holocaust. I hope to have it completely written by mid-summer/the end of summer. ๐Ÿ™‚ I would love to have some editing assistance with it.

Additionally, what would be better for a book of poems? Seeking a publisher or self-publishing through an online publishing system (, for example). Let me know your thoughts! ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Hey Samantha,

You’re welcome to submit your poems to be edited. As for publishing those are two totally different routes.
Publishing – can take years and is not gauranteed
Self-publishing – is instant and you can sell book, ebooks, or buy copies for yourself
It depends on what you want to do.

      • Based on that, I think I’d rather self-publish. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for the advice!

  5. Hey guys!
I’m not a part of CWC but I do know a bunch of the people a part of the club… I would love to get a 2nd opinion from somebody about my college application essay, and I would contact my English teacher but I’ve finished the class already! Can you help me out?
    Summer Moser

    • Hey Summer,

I would recommend still getting in touch with your English teacher. Worth a try. You can also submit your piece here.

      Mrs. Emery

  6. I would love to try out for that editing board! I am on my computer all day every day anyway.
I could give my thoughts, and maybe do some other sorts of editing too. This sounds like fun!

  7. Rebecca Molina

This is great. I really need some people to edit my book (I am in the revising stage now on about my third rewrite) and once its finished I was hoping if any of you would be willing to edit or revise it. But so far on Word it is 125,000 words and almost 300 pages. (I’m hoping to decrease the amount as I revise more and more) So I would love if any of you could get the time to edit at least a chapter on the more difficult parts :3 As for publishing I will just submit to as many publishers as I can to get it submitted hopefully. Thank you!

  8. Rebecca Molina

Thank you I shall submit something soon once I almost get finished ^^

  9. I don’t see a place to submit the actual writing. Where do you submit the actual writing?

    • Megan, there isn’t a place to submit your writing, but a place to submit that you would like to submit your writing. Then I will contact you to get your piece.

  10. I had at one point a very very long story but a) I ran out of ideas b) it was starting to go downhill.

  11. How do I become a member? And do I need to be a member to ask for some editing?

  12. Nice idea! I have a ton of poetry that needs editing!

  13. I submitted a request for a short part of my novel, but I was wondering if there was anyone I could talk to about just this whole novel idea and get some inspiration and helpful tips.

I’ve been trying to write it for ages and can never get it started, I have a few short pieces but nothing really major, and not very sure I have the WHOLE picture sorted out. It doesn’t particularly have to be someone in the club, though that would be nice.

  14. Hey! I would like to be an editor (help people who submitted stuff)! How would I do that? Would I have to fill out a form, email you, or wait until next year?

  15. This is a super great idea

  16. I have a piece I would like to get edited, and I would love to submit it here! I have signed up for the club and sent my application, but I have not yet received the welcome email. Does this mean I cannot submit my piece?

  17. I love this idea! I’ve been having my cousins edit for me but having a teacher do it will be fantastic!

  18. I’m new here, but I’m a student and I’m writing a book that’s currently at 44 pages. Is this the place to just talk about each others’ stuff?

    • This is just information on how to submit work if you’d like it to be edited, but it’s not a place to discuss current work. Tho I do like that idea! Thanks Connor!

  19. Hi,
I am in the process of writing a fiction book. I’ve had several ideas for books, but his one is sticking to me. I would like to follow through with it and am looking for some editing along the way. I am interested in joining the club and I filled out the application. Can I send in my chapters as I write them?
    Alexia Shea

    • Hey Alexia, you’re welcome to send those in. Depending on the length, it may take a little longer to get back to you, but we’re happy to look at it.

  20. Hiya, I’m sorry if this has been asked before, but is there a max wordcount for the pieces we submit? I feel like there might not be since I saw some people talking about chapters and almost whole books, but I just wanted to make sure.

  21. I definitely want to sign up for the editorial board next year! It sounds like a lot of fun and I’m an editor on Virge so I have just a little bit of experience. ๐Ÿ™‚

  22. This is so cool, I need editing for my NaNo novel, (a work in progress, which I hope to finish, somehow, lol!). Is it okay that is has 1870-ish words? I’m so exited to start editing my novel up! Woohoo!!!

    -Sofia C. (;

  23. How do I become an editor? I’m editor in chief with VIRGE magazine so I’m pretty good at editing. Is there anyway for me to become an editor on here? : )

    • Hey Gabrielle,
Editorial Board Applications are made at the beginning of the year, and then our board is set for the year. They are kind of like our club officers. But I’d love for you to apply next year if you’re still going to be involved with the club.
